Garstang, Lancashire

Garstang is one of those true countryside gems, where you’ll find yourself enjoying some of the best local specialities. Known locally for its tasty home-grown produce, step inside the many specialist shops for many items that you won’t find on any supermarket shelf. Local cheese-makers Dewlay are one of Lancashire’s finest.

Passing right through the centre of the town is the peaceful Lancaster Canal, where you can watch the passing canal boats cruise by. Head down the canal to Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, for an ideal family get together.

There are also a great selection of cafes and pubs in Garstang, offering excellent food at great prices. There are also some lovely independent shops in Garstang, as well as several garden centres nearby.

There is no shortage of things to do and places to visit, and if you call in on a Thursday you can enjoy the traditional local market right in the middle of Garstang.
